Knuckles Mountains Range
A UNESCO World Heritage Natural Site since 2009, located to the north-east of Kandy, offers spectacular panoramic scenery along with a bio-diversity of endemic species of flora and fauna of global importance that needs to be protected for generations to come, tourism in the area is therefore very much of the eco kind. There will be rice fields, spice gardens, tea plantations, vegetable fields, pine forests, typical, local mountain villages, plateaus, wildlife and bird watching, waterfalls, along the way. Treks to the Knuckles Mountains Range mostly start from Kandy.
